About Us

Genesis Cabling Services, Inc., (GCS, Inc.) was formed through an acquisition in August of 2008. GCS, Inc. is registered with the State of Virginia as a Small/Woman-Owned Business (SWAM, #676754) and is also registered members of SBA, eVA, CCR, Builders Exchange and DemandStar. GCS, Inc. is a Class-A Contractor (license #2705126993A) and is committed to providing turn-key voice, data, and fiber-optic structured cabling solutions to our Business Partners and Customers below budget, as specified, and within the stated project time intervals.

GCS, Inc. specializes in the design and installation of large-scale voice & data structured cabling solutions; including Cat-3, Cat-5e, Cat-6, CATV, paging/intercom, and fiber-optic solutions. ANSI standards are followed during the installation of all cabling, grounding, lightning protection, and labeling solutions/systems. GCS, Inc. is accustomed to providing detailed, certified test result packages on all Cat-5, Cat-5e, and Cat-6 drop locations. Our design and installation teams are comfortable working in commercial, industrial, government, and/or public school environments. Our management team has over 75 years of industry-related experience.

GCS, Inc. has recently added one of the area’s top RCDD’s in Bill Lenz, a Sr. Communications Engineer, long-time BICSI ITS Certified Technician and former BICSI Instructor; allowing us to design and/or implement any cabling solution in our region; meaning, no job is too big for GCS, Inc. On the government services side, we have Mike Halvorsen, also a Sr. Communications Engineer. Mike manages the various government projects we are awarded. Whether it’s a large-scale,120-drop secured PDS installation, or a 1,400-drop new construction opportunity, or the repair of conduits, or the repair of fiber-optic cabling housed within conduit communications systems between buildings located miles apart; Mike is the Project Manager that we turn to with these efforts.
